Often, something like this can be a bug that can be resolved by simply resetting the device. If you're unable to get the device to charge, please try shutting the device down completely (hold the button for 3-6 seconds until you feel the device vibrate and power down) and then attaching to the charger.
You may also want to try a different micro usb charger cable. While it's okay to use a different cable to charge your Peak base, we never suggest using a different adapter or charging brick, or using a car charger. Please keep in mind that doing so can damage the product as well as void the warranty.
